Celebration: the best frame is 3 seconds later

Arms up, the pile, the corner-flag run, the high-five. Keep shooting after the goal.

How to shoot it
  1. Step 1

Don’t drop the camera when they score

The goal itself is often a scramble. The picture you will print is the roar, the slide, the teammates arriving. Count a slow three and keep bursting.

  2. Step 2

    Get low for the pile-on

From standing height a pile is a blob of shirts. From the turf it is faces, arms, a boot in the air. Shuffle to the side so you are not shooting someone’s back.

  3. Step 3

The corner-flag run is a gift. You already know where they’re going

If your striker celebrates at the corner, frame the flag from behind the spectator line before they arrive. Same for the high-five with the bench: frame it from halfway and wait.
